During recent years we have, together with our customers, identified a need of something new. A new way of working together, and a new way of thinking about software solutions. We call that new way Netadmin Nine. Farewell NETadmin – Hello Netadmin Nine!
With this new product generation we want to shorten the time between an idea and a solution. We also want to make it easier to integrate with sales channels software such as a CRM or Self Service portals. We also strive to simplify everyday tasks performed by customer sales representatives, technical support and other system users with a step-by-step wizard approach. The first release – 9.0 – of this new generation introduce three new concepts. These concepts are Netadmin UI Plugins, Shopping Carts and a Smart GUI. Let’s take a closer look...
Deploy new solutions quicker with Netadmin UI Plugins
A common pitfall for support systems is that they become isolated environments and does not grow with your needs. Fulfilling emerging requirements and needs takes too long time, can be expensive or is sometimes even impossible.
If you are already a Netadmin customer you might recently have been visited by somebody from us who talked about new product ideas. We call that concept Product Candidates and in essence they are small product advancements and add-ons defined and developed closely together with our customers. We’ll talk more about the Product Candidate concept in another blog – keep an eye out!
With Netadmin Nine comes a new development framework which we call the UI Plugin Framework. Netadmin UI Plugins can extend existing functionality or even add entirely new capabilities to the system and be displayed as a tab, a popup or a full page, nicely integrated with the user interface. One practical example of a Netadmin UI Plugin is to display customer information which is fetched from your Billing, CRM or NIS/GIS system.
It enables us, our customers and partners to develop solutions in the form of Netadmin UI Plugin that can be easily activated. This means increased flexibility but more importantly a shorter path to new solutions.
Simplify sales with a Shopping Cart approach
Something we have learned during our 10+ years of integrating BSS and OSS is the importance of avoiding a gap between these two worlds. BSS and OSS needs to work together and not against each other in order to avoid complexity and unnecessary costs.
As different BSS solutions have different levels of product and order management capabilities it’s crucial for the OSS solution to cater for this. One example is product bundling which can be handled in some BSS solutions but far from all.
To simplify the interaction with BSS we have introduced the capability to work with shopping carts in Netadmin Nine. This enables ordering of multiple products in a single transaction. A shopping cart is ordered, validated, priced and activated as a whole.
Work more efficiently with a personalized and guided Smart GUI
We have always strived to make it easy for our customers to perform common daily tasks by guided processes and flows in the system. But as different customers have different needs this kind of guidance can in some circumstances become disconnected from the way that the customer would like to use the system. Ready-to-use processes, flows and views are great but they need to be adaptable – if not you have to adapt to the system and not the other way around.
In this the product generation we have solved this challenge by keeping the guided processes, but as default and adaptable processes. Together with graphics which clearly shows the current step in the overall process the experience is guided, but the way YOU want it to be.
Another new feature is the possibility to define personal filtered list views. That gives you quicker access to the information you are interested in and will save you time.
